How to choose an IVF hospital in the United States? Experience top 5 institutions firsthand, with a full 30 day itinerary record

Why did I give 30 days to the West Coast of the United States

Before deciding to go to the United States, my husband and I spent a whole year comparing twelve institutions in North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. There are only three reasons for ultimately targeting the West Coast: the average hardware update cycle in the laboratory is ≤ 18 months, the threshold for embryologists to practice is high, and the Chinese medical ecosystem is mature. All information in the following text is based on my personal appointment, face-to-face consultation, ovulation induction, egg retrieval, and laboratory observation notes from September to October 2023. It does not contain any third-party reporting or commercial cooperation. Please feel free to read.

Electoral logic: Write the 'irreconcilable item' at the beginning

1. Laboratory dual certification: CAP+CLAI is the minimum threshold, and it is best to add FDA Tissue Bank license.
2. Embryologists and doctors are matched in a 1:1 ratio to avoid the situation where doctors speak and technicians act without knowing each other.
3. The whole process of B-ultrasound during the cycle is personally operated by the attending physician, and the "shift system" is refused.
4. The Chinese coordination team is a direct employee of the hospital, not an outsourced translation company.
5. Cycle cancellation insurance and embryo storage insurance can be purchased on-site with transparent terms.

Initial impression:The hospital occupies a three story building, with the first floor serving as the imaging center, the second floor as the outpatient and operating rooms, and the third floor as the administrative center. CAP and CLIA bronze medals can be seen at the elevator entrance, with the latest date. Dr. Lin had a 30 minute face-to-face consultation, and B-ultrasound was used to observe the third line of the endometrium on the spot, measuring 12+9 follicles on each side. The laboratory director personally led me through two access controls and saw a total of 8 EmbryoScope+time-of-flight imaging systems, which printed real-time CO ₂ curves of culture dishes.

Cost framework:The single cycle package costs US $18900 (including ICSI, assisted hatching, and first-year freezing), with an additional cost of approximately US $4200 for medication. Periodic cancellation insurance of US $1500, with a 70% refund of the package fee.

Bonus points:The pharmacy within the hospital allows for same day medication collection, eliminating the need for queuing at CVS; The blood draw room is open until 6pm and is friendly to time difference parties.

2. American RFC Reproductive Center (RFC)

Initial impression:The Corona campus was newly built in 2021 and has ample parking facilities. The front desk provides a bilingual tablet for self filling medical records in Chinese and English, and the system comes with a Google Translate API for accurate terminology. Dr. Rosencrantz (Jewish American) is skilled in the PCOS ultra long protocol and directly drew three descending curves for me to choose from during the face-to-face consultation. The laboratory adopts the RI Witness electronic verification system to reduce the risk of sample misalignment.

Cost framework:Single cycle costs US $17400, with medication costs ranging from US $3800 to 4500. If no transplantable embryos are found during the cycle, surgery fees can be waived for a restart.

Bonus points:The hospital has signed an agreement with Corona Marriott for $109 per night, including breakfast and transportation, which is more cost-effective than downtown Los Angeles.

3. HRC Fertility—Newport Beach院区
